Nobody saw the children fly in and everybody in the village adamantly refused to believe that this was possible. Not even the other children of the village could see the wings that were clearly on the backs of the newly returned children. The children told their story about the golden pool and tried to show off their wings but the other villagers just laughed and thought it was all a silly story. It did not take long for the children to understand that the villagers would never be able to see their wings or even notice them as they flew. When the children were alone they would flap their magnificent wings to fly, soar, and swoop in the air. Sometimes they would go on adventures that lasted for days. Every year they would travel back to the golden pool to drink from the clear gold water.
